陳芳明今於臉書指出，「像泥鰍一樣的宋楚瑜」成功避開秦金生北京之行的詰問，沉默一陣子後再出來「重新做人」，甚至回應：「國民黨做了不恰當的事，就賴別人也做不恰當的事。」陳芳明批評「這是典型的政客嘴臉」，既要藍綠通吃，也要兩岸通吃，「這種既要當婊子，又要立貞節牌坊的兩面人格，正是他的行事風格。」
據說宋楚瑜將推出第3波文宣，陳芳明更語帶酸氣地說：「繼泥巴臉、刮鬍臉之後，我日本友人森小姐寄來一張照片，應該是賞他滿臉蛋糕吧！」
